Part 1 - All About You

To create change, we have to start with the most important piece of the puzzle – you! You are a unique and talented person with perspective, experience and purpose to make our world better and brighter. Your interests and skills are tools that you can use every day to make small impacts in your community and neighborhood.

Let’s look a little deeper at what makes you, well, you! Using three short and thought-provoking questions, we’ll learn more about your passions and talents and begin to ideate ways you can connect what you enjoy doing to what you care about to make a difference. Let’s get started!

Did you know that you are a philanthropist? It’s true! We all have 3Ts - time, talent and treasure - that we can use to give back to help people and nonprofits in our communities. Because everyone has 3Ts, anyone can be a philanthropist. Let’s learn more about your passions and talents and begin to ideate ways you can connect what you enjoy doing to what you care about to make a difference. Watch this video on What is Philanthropy? to help you start thinking about what philanthropy looks like in your community.

Note to facilitator/support person:

Upper elementary aged kids and older can typically be guided to type onto the downloaded file and save it, or print it so they can write on paper. If you are supporting a child who struggles with writing or is very young and still learning to write, help remove barriers by acting as scribe. The value in this activity is thinking through and recording these big ideas! They will get much more from the activity when it feels safe and approachable.
