Illumination Fund Member Page

There are four types of Illumination Funds that can be requested:  

• Materials: My class is requesting a grant to purchase materials/supplies for a service project that will benefit a nonprofit organization OR our school.

• Field Trip: I am requesting a grant to reimburse the cost of transportation for a field trip to a local nonprofit organization (NOTE: Field trip requests will only be considered if there is a corresponding service project with the same nonprofit organization).

• Matching: My class will be doing a fundraiser to benefit our school OR a nonprofit organization and is requesting a matching grant.

• Collection Drive Match: My class will be doing a collection drive that benefits a nonprofit organization and is requesting a matching grant based on how many items we collect.

Each classroom can receive up to 2 Illumination Fund grants per school year.

Ready to Apply? Here's what you need to do:

1. Integrate Project Heart Lessons: Incorporate Project Heart lessons into your K-12 classroom.
2. Submit Educator Application: Fill out and submit the Educator Application form online. Once reviewed, you will receive an email with the Student Application.
3. Form a Student Grant Writing Team: Assemble a team of 2-4 students to collaborate on the grant application.
4. Complete Student Application: Students can handwrite or type the Student Application form.
5. Submit Student Application: Email the completed Student Application to lucy.nuremberg@ottercares.org
